OUR MISSION

Making quality eye care accessible to those who need it most.

Ojas Eye Foundation was established in 2003 in memory of Smt. Naliniben Dedhia and Dr. Shri Chhaganlal Dedhia, parents of Dr. Niteen Dedhia, who were pioneers in social and philanthropic activities.

The Foundation was created with a simple belief: access to quality eye care should not be determined by a person's financial, social, religious, linguistic or geographical circumstances.

For over two decades, we have worked towards this goal through affordable treatment, subsidised and sponsored surgeries, community screening programmes and partnerships with organisations committed to improving access to healthcare.

COMPREHENSIVE EYE CARE

From a routine eye check-up to complex eye surgery.

Patients at Ojas Eye Foundation have access to a team of highly qualified eye surgeons
and comprehensive ophthalmic services under one roof.

Our services include:

  •

Our focus is not simply on making treatment affordable, but on ensuring that
patients receive appropriate, safe and high-quality care.

    QUALITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Being charitable does not mean compromising on medical standards.

  • We invest in modern ophthalmic technology and surgical equipment so that financial circumstances do not determine the quality of treatment a patient receives.

Our facilities include advanced equipment such as Oertli phaco technology, ZEISS FR1 surgical microscope, Leica surgical microscope and other modern diagnostic and ophthalmic equipment.

Patients also receive appropriate pre-operative evaluation, surgical care, post-operative follow-up and guidance from our clinical and nursing teams.

Affordable care. Modern technology. Experienced doctors. No compromise on quality.

  • TAKING EYE CARE TO THE COMMUNITY

Because sometimes, healthcare has to reach the patient.

Not everyone who needs eye care is able to walk through the doors of a hospital.

Our Medical Mobile Eye Van enables us to take primary eye screening closer to communities across Mumbai and surrounding areas. The van is equipped with ophthalmic equipment including a vision chart, slit lamp, autorefractometer and non-contact tonometer, allowing our team to identify patients who require further evaluation and treatment.

Through screening camps conducted in underserved communities, we identify patients with treatable eye conditions and connect them with appropriate care.

Depending on the patient's circumstances, treatment may be provided at a low cost or completely free of charge, often with financial support from partner organisations.

    PARTNERING TO CREATE GREATER IMPACT

    We cannot reach everyone alone.

Over the years, Ojas Eye Foundation has collaborated with organisations including Rotary Foundation, MZM Foundation and Lions Club, among others, to conduct community eye screening programmes and facilitate treatment for patients who need financial assistance.

We also work with charitable and community organisations such as Lions Club, Swabhiman Foundation, Shri Kunthunath Jain Derasar and others, through which patients in need are referred to us for affordable treatment, with financial support from the partnering institutions wherever applicable.

Together, these partnerships allow us to take eye care beyond our walls and reach people who may otherwise struggle to access it.

ONE SCREENING CAN CHANGE A LIFE

Finding blindness that can be treated.

Our outreach programmes have helped identify patients with serious but treatable eye conditions who might otherwise have continued living with avoidable visual impairment.

One such story was that of Chhaya Kalapad, an eight-year-old girl who had been attending a school for blind girls. After being identified and treated for cataract, her vision was restored, giving her the opportunity to leave the school for the blind and join a regular school. Her story was subsequently covered by Mid-Day.

This is why we take eye care to the community.

Because sometimes, identifying one patient at the right time can change the course of an entire life.

    SEEING BEYOND
    TREATMENT

At Ojas Eye Foundation, our goal is not merely to treat an eye condition.

It is to make sure that the person who needs care has a way to receive it.

Whether that means an affordable consultation, a cataract surgery, a complex retinal procedure, a community screening camp or a completely sponsored treatment — we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to see better.

Quality eye care should be accessible to everyone.
